Find your role, shape a project and learn how the pieces of a screen career fit together. This course combines short visual lessons, worked examples and practical activities.
Created for emerging creators, with the experiences and access needs of underrepresented communities in mind. Use your own project or a fictional example. No prior industry experience is required.
Plan for roughly 7–10 hours including readings, activities and workbook work. This is an initial estimate; take breaks and work at your own pace. The course provides introductory learning and a workbook for self-review. It does not award professional accreditation.

Is the course free?
Yes. BCMFTS does not charge learners for this course.
Do I need to follow BCMFTS on social media?
No. After registration, you can choose to follow Facebook or Instagram. Following and receiving email updates are optional and do not affect course access.
What information do you collect?
Registration asks for your name, email, general location, career stage and starting confidence. Optional community information helps BCMFTS understand reach and barriers. A separate post-course survey asks about confidence and outcomes. Direct identifiers are excluded from public demographic reports.
Where are my practice answers saved?
Your workbook answers, video position and progress are saved in this browser. Return on the same device and browser to continue. Download each worksheet or your full workbook as a branded PDF. Keep a PDF copy if you clear browser data or use a shared device.
What if I need access support?
Videos include captions and transcripts. Readings and workbooks can be downloaded. You can ask for support in the optional registration field or email info@filmminorities.com.
